I got a email stating that the next update will have Internet Explorer. That is awesome!!

PSN has had a browser forever.
But Xbox Glass or whatever you are supposed to be able to use a smartphone as a mouse to browse. The Kinect will be fully featured as well with motion and voice control. We'll see.

Who would seriously browse the internet on xbox over a computer/phone? Unless you have a keyboard hooked up to the xbox it's going to be totally pointless. Internet Explorer sucks on PC.. you know its going to suck on a console.

It's the ability to surf the web via your big screen that is the attraction. Microsoft once took the stance that their console was for gaming, the last two years they have strived to make it a total entertainment center. No shite it's easier to pick up your phone or laptop and surf the web, it's giving people the option.
What, do you expect them to roll this out then tell everyone they are no longer producing the Microsoft operating system because you have IE on Xbox?

Only thing it might be good for is movies online I don't have an app for. 80% gaming device 19% media (espn/movies/music). 1% never matters

Its use/popularity will greatly depend on how websites browse using the application. If its cumbersome and websites don't work as if they should, it'll flop hard.
I don't if anyone has ever hooked a PC up to their TV, but I have mine setup that way and the only way it's worth the effort is because of an iPhone app, Mobil Mouse. Allows me to use my iPhone as a mouse and type as if I'm txt'ing.
I'm thinking a similar app for all smartphones will be apart of the rollout as well.

You cant compare this to ps3's browser. I just want this feature to surf the internet in my theater room on my projector screen for streaming movies. I have a ps3 connected to my projector now and its horrible trying to surf the internet on it.
