Title about as descriptive as I could make it. What kind of performance differences do you think I'd see if I went from a 7200rpm HD to a 5400rpm HD? Both would be 3/Gps Sata drives.
This isnt the OS drive, its a media drive with music, movies, and Steam games. Need to upgrade to a larger drive and have found a great price on a 5400 rpm 2 TB drive.

TIA

not a whole lot, tbh... especially as just a media drive.

You may notice slower load times in Steam though.

I doubt a slight load time increase would bother me much, I dont do any MMOs - just single players like Civ and Skyrim.

Yeah, just slower load times for things that use a lot of memory such as your OS and games.

a) sata is overkill for a media drive
b) board has only 3/gps sata pin outs, not 6/gps
