After listening to Dr. Mark Emmert’s press conference this morning, his assertion that a balance between academics and athletics (specifically Penn State Football) did not exist previously is baseless and intellectually dishonest. It is with great pride that the members of our Club know that we have done it the “right way” for several decades and we will not allow Dr. Emmert’s careless remarks to tarnish the legacy of Penn State Football.

I think the child rape and cover up has already taken care of the legacy tarnishing.

One of these freaks was on SportsCenter earlier and said basically all of this. These people are beyond help.

yea, it's Emmert's punishments that are tarnishing Penn State's legacy.

They are fricking insane.

my opinion will be very unpopular, but anyways, these penalties are insane. i fully understand the reasons behind them, but man, there are going to be a lot of innocent people who suffer...

Not as bad as Franco Harris saying that the only people who know the truth are the ones who think joepa did nothing wrong. That place is downright scary.

There are a substantial number of people that share your viewpoint, and I can definitely see it. The cult like atmosphere that permeates from that fan base removes so much of my empathy though, that the only thing I'm truly wary about with these punishments is the NCAA expanding its jurisdiction and power.

And people wonder why a message of a culture change needed to be sent. These people are crazy.

I couldn't agree more

I mean seriously, if I rape and murder my neighbor, why should my wife and children have to live without their husband and father. Its not fair to them to have to suffer because I am in prison.

the current players are granted a free release, and employees can always leave too

Did you wife and children actively cover up your criminal activities for their greater benefit?

These melodramatic comparisons are silly and inaccurate.

A local radio host compared it to a corporate scandal. (He used Enron). They had over 8,000 workers and because of 12 people who were all indicted, every single of them 8,000 people were fired and unemployed because of the actions by few. I think it was a good analogy and the point being life isn't fair and a few people can ruin anything for a lot of people if they are aligned together.

It has become very obvious that all of these whack-o's from Piss State are aligned together even though it was only a few that commited crimes.

well stated man...

I was going to go with "hopefully a fricking meteor wipes these nutjobs off the planet" but I'll just concur with your statement.

Negative Ghostrider...Enron went tits up in a ditch. Those people were not "fired", there were no jobs at Enron, because Enron ceased to exist.

i agree with everything said above.....i've been talking about the cultism and nepotism that surrounds Penn State for years...

wonder how many members of the Paterno extended family will lose jobs now?

pet peeve, how much would you bet in the last minute of the Capital One bowl if Joe Pa hadn't been the coach of the side on defense that Penn State would have been penalized for holding the LSU player down...

The worst thing about it is that to all these fans, students, trustees and board members is that it's all about football to them.

Getting caught in a cover-up and being held accountable for it is a b!tch.

everyone in HV needs to STFU and take it, you had a coach raping boys in the locker room and your God covered it up.

I loved seeing the reactions of the students on ESPN what did they expect. ?
