I rank the movies in order
1) TDKR
2) BB
3) TDK

I really enjoyed TDKR. It was 3 hours long, but didn't seem like it. The character of Bane was great.

My problem, is with the Dark Knight. I watched it the night before seeing Rises, and i've always had problems with it. The movie is a sub-par movie, the Ledger's Joker makes it amazing. A few things standout in that movie.

1) Character development was not in that movie.
a) The "love" story between Dent and Rachel, was non-existant. When Rachel dies, you feel nothing for Dent, because they did not develop the relationship.
b) The town "hating" batman. You get the idea, why they hate him, but Nolan does a shitty job of convincing you why. Not to mention the acting is pretty bad when anyone tries to express hate for Batman in that movie.
c) Harvey Dent being convinced by the Joker to "bring chaos". Dent's motivation just seems childish. That one conversation with the Joker is enough to turn Dent into a bad guy, and forgive the joker? Then, he starts whining about what's "fair". Really bad character development. Also, 2 face was a pretty big character in the batman saga, yet he is on screen for maybe 20 minutes before he dies of a broken neck. Anti-climactic.
d) The "love story" between bruce and rachel kind of gets lost in the movie. And it seems forced when Bruce talks about it.
2) BAD ACTING. Gylenhaal was awful. Eckhart wasn't that great, and Bale's performance was bad in that movie.

The only thing that saved that movie was Ledger's Joker. Incredible acting in an overall sub-par movie, made it a good movie. Also, Oldman and Cain, as always, were great.

Right now, I have them:

1. TDK
2. BB
3. TDKR

I think after I catch TDKR again, I'll have it at #2.

Also, I disagree with most of the shite you typed.

SPOILER MAYBE

TDK
BB
TDKR

That's my order. I thougth TDKR was very good but not great. It seemed to be forced and I felt like it had little to do with Batman. Through out the movie I felt like they were just setting up for Robin to come into the picture or for someone to take over as Batman.

I was also disappointed in Bane's death. As bad arse as he was (he man handled Batman in the first fight) he deserved a better death.

Yep.

I saw TDK on Saturday night and TDKR Sunday afternoon, and TDKR is a better movie.

I thought that way too for a long time. However, if you stop and really think about it, it's not that far fetched. Dent just went out on a huge limb by trusting Batman and Gordon by turning himself in and allowing those two to catch the Joker. In what should be his finest hour, not only did Batman and Gordon not come through for him by allowing the Joker to escape, but they allow Rachael and himself to be captured and Rachael killed.

You see how angry Dent is when he believes they came after him instead of Rachael (for all he knew, they chose him over her). So now he's disfigured, lost his fiancée, and Batman and Gordon failed in capturing the Joker. In walks the Joker like he's never even been challenged to get to Dent.

Every man has his breaking point. In his eyes, it's not fair. After everything he's done to help Gotham, nothing has worked and his life is much worse than it once was.

Yeah. I understand all of it. I know what the director was trying to do. It just wasn't believable IMO. Kind of forced. Most of the movie seemed forced to me.

And to all the naggers out there, i still enjoy the movie. It's a fun watch, but there are just inconsistencies, and the movie isn't put together as well as BB or TDKR.

I agree. Its strange that people get so bent out of shape if you don't think TDK is the best movie ever created. I liked it a lot but I preferred the other two.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS....

One of the main things that bugged me about the movie. It seems like after everything is revealed to Batman bane was no longer an important part of the movie. To go out the way he did after being such a badass the whole movie was a bit anti-climatic. (I tried to avoid spoilers.)

2) TDKR
3) TDK

One of the only good things about TDK was The Joker. Everything else, like Bug said, seemed forced. Character development was the worst and you almost never felt anything towards any of those characters except for The Joker.

The best part in getting you to feel for any of them is at the end when Batman is talking to the commissioner on how he will take the fall for everything two-face did.

I prefer BB because the story was a lot better than the other two. Not as much action but I loved the transformation that Bruce took to become the batman.

TDKR was beyond epic. The musical score was amazing and it really didn't feel like it was almost 3 hours long, unlike TDK.

Bane was already broken by Batman before he died. Batman started destroying his mask and beat him in the second fight. Catwoman finished him off, but he already been defeated moments earler. Thought Hardy nailed and did a great job.

This would be why I would have it lower than TDKR but I have it higher than Begins because I was TDK just had a whole more wow factor with HL than scarecrow running around trying to put shite in the water.

TDKR would have been excellent if they had not tried to shovel a damn love story into it. Bruce randomly hooks up with Miranda, which is fine, but then says that they may be together after all this stuff is over. Uh... What? You just met this chick. In fact, the only thing you know about her is that she is "quite lovely."

And then the whole "I guess we're just a couple of suckers" crap that Selina throws out there.

I love Nolan as a director, but dude cannot develop a love story for shite.

TDKR, as epic as it was, almost put me to sleep for the middle two hours. It felt extremely forced. TDK gets a lot of crap for having 3 consecutive plots strung together in one movie but TDKR had one plot line that would've filled two hours but apparently needed 2 hours and 45 minutes to explain.

I don't think it was a bad movie at all but imo it's inferior to Nolan's prior installments.

FWIW-For all the optimists that believed Hathaway's Catwoman could be akin to Ledger's Joker...you lose.

I don't know anyone who expected Hathaway to be on par with Ledger. This is the first that Ive actually heard it suggested, as most people thought she would suck. She did an awesome job.
