Named d-line MVP at recent camp per Mike S.:

LSU defensive end commit Lewis Neal of Wilson, N.C.-Hunt was named the MVP among the defensive linemen Saturday at the Top Gun Camp in Williamsbug, Va.

Dude is a beast. He'll get his 4th star on Rivals very soon.

This guy is a beast. Our D-line class is sick. With Herron, Patterson, Neal, and possibly Williams and Beckwith? WOW! Also, with Lawson and Gilmore and maybe Pagano, that would be unfair!!!

I've heard so much about how aggressive he is and his hi motor. I love it!!!

Plus he has been nominated to play in the US Army All-American Bowl.

Dude's a team player, he just wants to speed rush on obvious passing downs

It's a joke. Anytime a white kid is a three star people always you the term "high motor."

Anyways, back to the topic, Neal continues to impress me. Initially, after watching his footaage a few months ago, I couldn't believe he wasn't a four star.

This guy is great kid and has a strong desire to play at LSU. Really looking forward to seeing him play. Congrats Lewis, you earned it.

Beckwith aint no D-line. He is working hard at LB.

and if he doesn't??

way, way, way too much stock is put into the star rating system used by recruiting services..... sure, sometimes the evaluations are on par and their ratings are justified....

can we get past the star gazing at some point?

That's if Rivals can look past him being only 6'1". They are terrible at putting too much stock on the wrong characteristics.

Then nothing.

Hence the point of my post - showing that, despite the fact Neal is "only" a 3 star on Rivals, he's been consistently dominating every camp in which he participates.

This. Idk where all this Beckwith stuff about him playing D-Line is coming from.....Every pay site article I read has him strictly working at LB with Chavis in these camps. Can KB be moved there if the fit doesn't work at LB? Possibly. However, for the most part I think he has enough athleticism to stay at LB. We will be fine at DE.

He initially was a 4-star on Rivals.

They recently downgraded him.
