I live in Scottsdale, the golf Mecca of the world... You should skip Gatlinburg.

Old Gatlinburg Golf is by far the best in Gatlinburg.....and might be the best course in all of Tennessee.

Gatlinburg Golf Club is fun. They have a par 3 with a near 200ft elevation change. Also they have steep slopes off of the fairways. I enjoyed it.

Played a course near there with bentgrass greens. Disrember the name tho. Had a par 3 straight down the mountain 190yds. I hit an 8iron over the back

River Islands is a very nice par 72 course with rolling hills and many challanging shots next to and over the river. Almost all par 3's are over water. Price is fair for the 18 holes with cart and it includes a bucket of range balls, so get there early and hit a few. It is tucked away in Kodak just off of exit 407 on I-40. Out of the way and quiet. No mountain views but forgiving and good for the average golfer. During the week it was not crowded and it seemed like we had the course to ourselves. I have also played the course on weekends and it plays at a nice pace when fully booked.

Gatlinburg Golf Course is pretty nice and was fun to play. Played their in April on vacation, our cabin was across the road within walking distance. The course will challenge you if you are used to playing flat courses with bermuda greens.

For a fun sidetrip, head over to Foxfire Mountain and do the zipline course; we had a blast and the kids went back the next two days for more.
