I will soon be in the market for a new marine gps/depth sounder. I was playing around with some of the lowrance devices yesterday in Cabellas but was still pretty disappointed in the lack of detail in Barataria and Breton. Does Garmin, Hummingbird, or Lowrance provide an easy way to have up to date satellite Imagery as your background instead of their basic crappy maps?

I would suggest buying one that is compatible with the navionics platinum card. Then you will have maps that are satelite images exactly like, if not more detailed than google earth maps.
