Reportedly signed 1 year deal at league minimum.

ETA: Lakers may also sign Jermaine O'Neal at league minimum as well.

man, what are Howard's options at this point?

Are Houston and LA out of it?

They couldn't be more unrelated. Solid pick up, doesn't need to have the ball a lot to score. Nash will get his shooting percentage up.

Now all that remains for Howard is go home to Atlanta or stay with Orlando

Ouch. So, Orlando essentially screwed themselves out of anything.

Dwight can just wait until this year is over and sign wherever he wants.

Reading comprehension? Yeah, he shot a lot for a team with no offense. But he's a catch and shoot player at this point so he doesn't take the ball out of Kobe and Nash's hands.

understatement. can anyone get the ball and flip one up toward the hoop quickly like Twan can? he was deadly at that with Cota in college.

He also played more of a post role in college.

I really like this mood for LAL, just sucks that it's another old man to join an already old team

Do these signings mean they are out of it for Howard, or they are adding pieces to include in a Howard deal or to have depth behind Howard?

The best deal for Orlando is getting Bynum for howard imo. Bynum has his issues, but he's the best player being offered so far.

Not really because they still would have no young talent other than Bynum or cap space to make roster moves. So they would be basically stuck with the same thing they had before trading Howard. The Rockets can take their shitty contracts (Glen Davis, J-Rich, Turkoglu etc.) because they have tons of cap space, and they can give them picks and young players to build for the future along with giving them a flexible amount of cap space being freed from those contracts.

the frick does signing a backup 4 have to do with Howard?

Pretty epic job by Mitch to get him for the min.

Still need a backup 2/3 that can get some points (have the MLE to do this still), but this team is looking a lot better than last year.

If they can somehow get Howard and take back JRich's contract this team will be amazing.
