What's the deal with this? Anyone ever been? Fun? What do they mean in regards to "No Limit on Jugs"? I can't imagine 50-100 boats all trying to jug fish down the river and there not be massive "contraversy" lol

I have been to the weigh-in but not fished it. I have seen a small barge 10x20 stacked with gar thigh high and guys cleaning and cooking. Proceeds went to charity. Very good time, in a white trash kind of way...

I was in until I saw that it wasn't really Elvis... only an "Impersonator". I'm glad they cleared that up!

Never been before, but I will this year. I hear it's a damn good time. I'll report back to the OB with results and critique.

i thought they always had a choupique rodeo? Does this replace it, or is it in addition to the Choupique rodeo?

Choupique Rodeo is a St James Parish Boat Club Event. It's usually in April.

Blind River Bar has been hosting a far fish
rodeo for over 10 years.

It's a gar fish rodeo and they're giving a prize for the largest trash fish?

Having been at BRB over the years, that might not be the jugs they are referring to.

Cant wait. Fished it last year in a bass boat, big mistake. Took 2 days to clean it after

The party is always the best part, better be there before 10 if you want a spot for your boat on the pier

I don't know. On the sign it says "biggest trash fish---no sharks."

Do they cook up some of the gar fish?

I have not been in a couple of years and there are now new owners, but last time I was there they were selling gar balls and fried gar and proceeds were going to a charity. With them making a requirement edible fish I would think that still continues...
