Thinking back to Doug Stone makes me think of Shenandoah.

Watever happened to Blackhawk?

I don't consider them traditional country music by any means, but I liked almost all of their stuff.

Van Stephenson left the group in 2000, due to a battle with skin cancer (he lost the battle in 2001). He was the driving force behind the band and a prolific songwriter as well (Look at the Restless Heart Greatest Hits CD and you will see his name a lot).

The group is still around, with original members Henry Paul and Dave Robbins. They were dropped by Columbia (after leaving Arista for Columbia) and now I think do more touring than recording.

My two favorite Pandora stations for country music are "I Just Wanted You To Know" (the Mark Chestnutt song) & the Blackhawk station.

Both stations hit on the 80s and 90s songs. The first grabs all of the solo artists from that period with the occasional Merle or Conway oldie coming in. But that station concentrates on the medium-fast paced songs that were popular mostly in the mid 80s - mid 90s (like John Andersons "Straight Tequilla Night" or Tracy's "Stick & Stones") - basically the songs that are the same pace as: I Just Wanted You To Know - Chestnutt

The Blackhawk station covers the same time period, so there is some overlapping of songs, but it concentrates mostly on the country bands of that time, like Blackhawk, Alabama, Little Texas, Shenandoah, older Brooks & Dunn, Diamnond Rio, Etc...

Both are great for driving music.
