Subject line cut me off a little. I am experimenting with cutting my cable off, and the last major hurdle is LSU football games. The CBS ones are a cinch, but is it possible to get ESPN's games live from the internet? I know about ESPN3, but I've never really tried any other ones. Even if they have a pay service to view, I want to know. Any ideas or is it not possible without Justin.Tv type of (cut you off in the middle of a game)sites? The only thing I saw whilst Googling was WatchESPN app, anyone tried it out for football games?

I used Justin.tv for baseball games at it did like you said and cut out after an hour. ESPN3 is subject to blackouts sometimes

WatchESPN app is only available for certain cable providers though, unless someone knows a way around that

the watchespn app is so limited you must have Bright House Networks, Time Warner Cable or Verizon Fios...

unless that has changed since last year?

but yes ESPN3 should have almost any game online that they are covering..

and really college football doesn't really get shut down on websites..

you could always cut the cable until september maybe?

AlaJones, I'm stuck right now at paying for cable Sept-Dec, with Jan. being decided upon the bowl game. I dug into WatchESPN and apparently my provider, DirecTv isn't a partner company anyway, so that's out. No one has found a way to stick it to the man for football games yet?

the thing with the baseball getting shut down was because it was geauxzone feeds and they highly opposed it.. which is understandable.. but overall college football does not get shut down from sports sites.. anyone that watched this way last year i'm sure could attest to that.

any ways good luck.

Okay, well focusing on just Espn3, anyone remember which games from last year's schedule were available, and which were blacked out in the Baton Rouge area?

Great question, I recently cut the cord and I get the big 3 via my HD antannae. (DGAF if I spelled it wrong) But, since I don't technically have a cable provider I can't watch ESPN 3 online. I have Comcast/Xfinity internet, but that account number doesnt offer free watching. If anyone finds a way around this please post.

THANKS!

You can also catch them on the pirate sites. My brother who is studying in England was able to catch every game that was on tv last year.

You can pay for Xfinity or Hulu or whatever provider carries it. Costs a lot less than cable (Hulu is under $10 a month).

So if I pay for Hulu plus I can get ESPN3 streaming? Sorry, just clarifying.

ESPN U and ABC games are the big concerns without cable.

ESPN3 doesn't show ESPN U games or ABC games.

You could watch with WatchESPN app, which can now be accessed by Xfinity/Comcast now, but unless you subscribe to the tv stations, you won't be watching ESPN U on the APP.

Gotcha Dean, thanks. I got abc/CBS covered with a "leaf" hd antennae. So I guess I'll just have to find a bar or friends for ESPNU. Gonna try it this season. Ill update this thread If I find any better fixes.

LSU played Oregon on ABC last season right?

I could have sworn that was on ESPN3.. as well as all other ABC televised games.

Now ESPNU is a different a different story, but with the SEC network partnered with ESPN.. I really don't remember an LSU SEC game not being on ESPN3 last season..

if you have Verizon as your ISP, you can get ESPN3 through that. that's how I've been able to survive since March without cable

I think I'm going to look into a 4-6 month cable option when we get to September though. I don't want to watch football on choppy internet feeds. ESPN 3 still cuts in and out of HD for me...and the illegal feeds generally look like shite
