Grand Isle beach fishing

I am thinking of taking the wife and a couple who has a kid to the island this weekend. Any reports on good beach fishing lately? Fishing from the bridge? Any other things to do? Flounder gig ect.
FYI: I havent been to the island in a few years so any help would be appreciated.

I haven't been in a couple weeks, so I haven't heard any reports, but usually the crabs come thru in August. You could go to the beach and catch some crabs. Or go to arties and catch another kind of crabs
