Cubs need to take advantage and get some good prospects now while the irons it's hottest.

Dempster's never been near this good in his life. Need to milk it dry.

I know. I like Dempster and I think he genuinely loves the Cubs, but history tells us what he is and as a 15 year veteran he probably is not going to trend up much longer.

Let's rape somebody now while he's pitching out of his mind.

I agree with you. We need to lock down some lights out, young pitchers!

And attempt to deal Soriano if possible and promote Brett Jackson

I would have to imagine the Nationals, Giants, Angels, and/or Orioles will be looking to sure up the pitching staff sometime soon

I've heard Jackson while promising just ain't ready yet.

Soriano's still looks like he's gonna be tough to unload. At least Sveum has finally gotten a staff with the sack to finally make him work on his fielding.

And after he got booed mercilessly by the Wrigley fans against Boston for standing in the batters box and never taking a step to first on a hard liner that the 3rd basemen muff he's actually doing something I've never seen him do...run hard on the bases.

But he's 36, has bad legs, is grossly overpaid and no one wants him, even if the Cubs pay most of the bill and take almost nothing in return.

I'm not sure you want that just yet. 128 strike outs in 328 ABs (39%). If he's striking out that much in AAA, it might get ugly in the majors.

It's already ugly. I doubt Jackson is in Chicago before September call ups.

I'm really starting to like the way this team is playing right now. Obviously, the starting pitching has a lot to do with it, so once Dempster and Garza are dealt, they'll start sucking again. But it's nice to see this team competing hard even though they're clearly going nowhere this year.

Rizzo has been huge in the recent hot streak. Maholm has looked good, but I am not looking forward to when the rotation is chalk full of Volstad and the like.

Definitely. I would love to see Campana start almost everyday this year because he is so much fun to watch and there is not much to lose. It is not like DeJesus is in the long term plan.

I wish Vitters had some more patience at the plate. I find that to be a surprising issue, since he was supposed to be so polished out of the draft.

It is definitely a process, but the right moves are being made and the players are giving a shite.

Please, what ever you do, do NOT deal either of those arms to the Barves.

TIA.
