So supporting harsh punishment for a university that enabled child rape=angry mob?

Bob Costas has joined the old man brigade.

I stopped taking him serious after he went on his rant about NFL players celebrating.

No way they should receive the Death Penalty. These players and current coaches had nothing to do with this.

Of course it did. Go read some of his posts. He's an all or nothing type of guy.

We shouldn't drop the atomic bomb. It's not right for the citizens to be punished for the actions of their leaders. Let's invade and allow one million of our own soldiers to die instead.

What a fricking stupid analogy.

What is gained by banning Penn State FB? Who is protected or saved? No one. Its punishing innocent people for no good reason. Its just satisfying an angry mob, nothing more.

Agreed. Until the vast majority of PSU fans can comprehend JoePa was a horrible person, then they don't deserve to play football. That mindset of doing anything to defend the sport led to this evil. Penn State has to be made an example of that this evil will not be remotely tolerated.

I do feel bad for the players,as they did nothing wrong. But should the university get off due to the innocence of the current players?

Yes, because the University didn't enable child rape, INDIVIDUALS, like Paterno, Spainer, etc did. Those guys are either dead or face charges. The GUILTY have or will be punished. Banning the FB program does nothing, it doesn't help or protect one child.

ETA: Plus the University will no doubt face years of civil lawsuits. That's punishment enough.

I agree with this. Let the players play this season, but be allowed to transfer to any school as soon as the season is over with no penalty.

yeah dude...lets force these players to start over on their majors since a lot of their courses won't transfer.

We know for a fact the head coach, athletic director and university president were all guilty in the cover-up.How much of the university has to be involved to be punished?

Here you go again posting something you can't prove just to join in on the PSU bashing. Your one PSU friend is a god apparently for knowing the thoughts and feelings of all PSU fans.

death penalty would effectively screw over all the current players on this team because of something they had zero involvement of

Not necessarily. I'd say let them play this season without the chance of a bowl game, disband the sport for at least 3 years after that, and then let the seniors, juniors, and sophomores transfer without penalty and be able to play immediately. frick the freshmen though since they knew what they were getting into.
