Seems like the best forum to post this, since I found it very entertaining and quite insane on many levels. I discovered this after reading an article about a man recently sentenced to beheading after wiping out 2 people. I couldn't stop watching it, it is so bizarre.
An unusual and criminal recreational sport in Saudi Arabia. Its called drifting and spectators get to interact with drivers. The ultimate no-brains, but lots of balls thrill seekers and that includes the folks watching.

drifting has been around for a super long time... its super popular in asia, and in rural parts of america (you know, where people have small dicks)
ETA: this isnt really drifting, just people flooring it then power sliding. put this on the OT.. they will appreciate

those guys are just out of control driving. the drifting that I have seen at least have control of their rides. future NYC taxi drivers

Ok, so maybe the Saudi's aren't drifting. I was totally unaware of the term until yesterday. But what got me about the Saudis is the insanity of both the drivers & spectators. The Asian version looks boring by comparison, meanwhile the thrill seekers in Saudi Arabia are both the drivers & spectators because both are putting their lives in danger while at the same time putting the lives of innocent drivers at risk also.
My OP wasn't so much about drifting as it was about the a cultural phenomenon that seems to be unique to SA.

Yeah he's good, but compared to the Saudis, he's a pussy. Totally controlled environment - even wears a helmet. :)
