I just started re watching "The Wire" for the second time around and I m realizing more and more how Simon and his bunch created such an intertwined collage that is a mirror to American city life.

Initially i couldn't stand season 2 and was glad when it was over but after re-watching it is by far my favorite. The Sobotka's are imo the best actors on the show as far as the ones who do not make it at least 2 seasons in the show. Season 2 shows you the real "Man behind the curtain" so to speak but you cant really appreciate it until you see the entire show play out. At first glance, The Euro's seem dry and although powerful, their characters do not offer the "drive" to carry a series.

I also never realized that the Deacon character was played by the real life inspiration for Avon Barksdale. There is an episode of "American Gangster" that showcases the life of Melvin Williams. Very disciplined guy to say the least.

All of my favorite characters ( Bunny, Wee Bay, Bodie) still hold up. Cheese is so annoyingly arrogant and clumsy that he has grown on me much more the second time around. Mc Nulty became irritating halfway through season 2 but by the middle of season 3 (where I'm currently watching) it seems they balanced out his frick up to "good ole powlice" ratio much better. I dont know why but i just want to punch Carcetti in the throat everytime he speaks. Rawls speech to Jimmy in the hospital is one of the best moments of the show. Random i know

I guess Iam little late to the game because I started the series in 2010 but the foreshadowing and the metaphors laced within the show has me hooked harder than any TV series

A great season by seaon Breakdown for Rookies and Vets

I'm just starting it, I just finished the third episode. It started off a little slow for me, but I'm getting interested and I can tell that it will be a good one.
