They don't need to talk about this now, especially to the media.

I'm against the death penalty for the football program how it would make the surrounding community suffer more, particularly economically, and for the fact that I don't think that it would help the victims themselves in any way, unless they are no longer fans, in which case the football program should go away FOREVER.

However, it would benefit the community in that it would give them an opportunity to re-evaluate their priorities and determine what steps they need to take to distance themselves and cope with this scandal while learning from it.
