Venting a Prop

Just traded an Old Merc for a new E-Tec. On the Merc i was running a Tempest 23 pitch. Prop had the vent holes to help with hole shot. Now i have a Viper 21 pitch on the E-Tec. Top end is good, but need better hole shot. Any E-Tec owners ever added vents to a prop? Where can i order the black plugs to vary the hole size? And if i want to run the Tempest 23 on my E-Tec, all i have to do is change the bushing in the hub right? Where can i order a new bushing?

Marked? Y? Cause I bought an E-Tec? Well the Merc got towed in a number of times.

No I have an unvented Powertech that might benefit from this. I did not want to just attack it with my drill though.

vents definitely help with holeshot...i don't know much about size selection though

Well I know people that pull the plugs so that their motors scream like a :insertwittysoundcomparisonhere:

Makes sense. But they only pull one or two plugs... Wonder how that effects it?

you can open or close all or only 1 or 2 holes. Also change the size of each. to much venilation will cause a cavitation like problem. So the idea is to work your way with more / bigger holes until you have the best possible hole shot.
