Everyone is all happy and Gohan is even smiling, then BOOM, Narrator give Goku a somber eulogy.

I still would have taken that as an end rather than knowing what came after. The assumption Gohan takes his dad's place is one I could live on...

I do hope the success of the movie does lead to one, depending on how Akira would handle it. Erasing GT seems like it would be a lot easier to erase than the Buu saga. You do have that 7 year gap between Cell-Buu, so there's a decent spot to drum up a story line. Though you would be admitting in using that frame that the Buu saga still exists.

Will be interesting to see what comes of it...

Yeah, I'd watch it. I'd be pissed with another bad ending.

Not sure if you guys saw this.

also the movie takes place after the buu saga. so any continuance would be after the buu saga.

Correct. Between the 10 year gap at the end of Z and before GT.

I don't get everyone's hate for the Buu saga and wanting DBZ to end after the Cell Saga. There were some EPIC moments in the Buu Saga (Vegeta vs Goku, Vegeta's Atomement, Vegeta conceding that Goku is better, Goku returning to his family at the tournament, Goku going beyond a SSJ2, Mystic Gohan, I am sure I am missing more.) I know the saga had its moments but I really liked it.

You can't expect Gohan who is half human to uphold is unlocked power after the cell saga when he was virtually the strongest being in the universe and the world was at peace. He never had the fighting mentality of a true saiyan, and his mom always forced him into the books. He isn't like Goku where his uprbringing demanded him to always get better, Gohan had more of a paved life. His drop off in power after Cell is very logical.

Poxx, how long do we have to wait for the dubbed version of the movie?

I don't completely hate the Buu Saga, I like a lot stuff in it.

My main beef is the hero of the saga. As a kid, I had always thought DBZ was actually about the maturation of Gohan with Goku holding the torch. The point comes where the gets passed the torch and Gohan delivers. So you'd expect from this point on, Gohan would be the hero. Instead, Goku has to save the world again. Because of which, it lessens the value because "Goku vs." has happened several times before. It wasn't solely Goku who defeated Buu, but he's was very heavily involved.

And you're correct, it's a plausible situation that Gohan loses interest. I think it sorta spits in the face of Goku though, he trusted Gohan to protect the world. Are Gohan's convictions that soft that he'd drop it? And while Goku has exited his life and Chi Chi is his dominant parent, that doesn't take the supporting cast out of the picture.

that's just me though, I don't think you can build someone up to that point, then throw him off a cliff...

I actually really like the Buu saga. I just said the ending of the Cell saga would have been a better fit for an end to the series. The Buu saga, like you said, had MANY epic moments.

A page or two back, I posted a link about when to expect a Funi dub. Fox holds the rights, so we might have to wait up to 2 years.

he did. Goku can't see the future. He trusted Gohan to protect the world against Cell and he did. I don't think Goku thought he'd be the worlds supreme protector. Vegeta kind of thrust himself into that role.

They got really stupid with all of the transformations and fusions after the Cell stuff.
Trying to tell me that little kids can go Super Saiyan with no effort? As a great Baltimore politician once said....SHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIITTTT.

I think it's a very decent assumption that based off previous happenings, Cell was not gonna be the last threat.

I didn't want Gohan to grow up and be a carbon copy of Goku, but at least not be stripped down after being built up in the culmination of the Cell Saga. He was briefly the lead character in the Buu saga, then moved back when Goku returned.

Maybe I'm wrong, I just think post Cell saga Gohan should have turned out different. He didn't have to retain his complete power(because it's no fun if he's the strongest being alive), but he didn't retain what I assumed would be the spotlight. Now if the spotlight meant even more school and Saiyaman, I withdraw my grievances...

I say this every chance I get

cell saga should have shown Gohan needed to keep training with Piccolo. I wish I could ask Toriyama what he was thinking making Gohan a pussy. also I hate how they just let Goku come back to life all the time.
