"An athletic dual-threat passer who can create plays with his legs and his arm ... Possesses one of the strongest arms on the team ... Displayed his athleticism in the spring game when he rushed four times for 27 yards and finished 3-of-4 passing for 24 yards... LINK

He's legit. Very good. I do think he's behind Rivers though.

Rivers is most likely #2, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Randall come in for Mett as a change of pace. Sadly this might involve short-side options...

I at least posted something relevant first.

Frankly I like the idea of having a change of pace guy. Once the big RB's wear a defense down, Randall could put up some gaudy numbers with his feet. As far as I'm concerned any time we have a 20 point lead (with the exception of Bama and Arky) we should put Mett on the bench. No point putting him at risk of injury.

Nothing inherently wrong with short-side options, if the defense doesn't expect it and load up against it.

I'm not going to berate all future dual threat QBs because of JJ.

I hope to see Randall and Rivers get plenty of PT each during the North Texas, Idaho, Townson and Washington games... Perfect timing to get all these QB's some reps just incase of need...

Yeah that would be a good time to give them both a shot to play against some teams to see how they do. I think Rivers is #2

Change of pace would be dumb with how potent our offense will be this season.

Miles has brainwashed the fan base.

This right here. The thought of a dual threat QB does still haunt me for now, but Randall is a totally different player. For all we know he could end up being great at the short side option...I don't mind using the change of pace if it works to throw teams off, especially the big games. But if it's not working, I would hope we learned our lesson and didn't try to force it.

Shouldn't let JJ take away from the dual threat. For one he was not a true dual threat, nor was he much of a QB. No offense. Just what it is..

And I *think* it's a situation where Rivers is number 2 on the depth, but Randall is the guy who will come in for certain packages if warranted.. like a young Ryan Perrilloux.

As long as they're smart with their throws I'll be happy

No kidding. That's ridiculous. Some people would turn down cammy cam bc they're scared they'll get another JJ.

pretty sure the staff has Rivers ahead of Randall. Randall seems to have accuracy issues, tries to launch every ball as hard as possible.

then again, accuracy issues didn't stop them from continuing to trot JJ out there....

really. i mean does any team with a solid qb need this mythical "change of pace" to run a good offense? because every good offense I've EVER seen in the nfl and ncaa has one qb

Do the Patriots bring in a change of pace QB? Packers? Saints?
