7. Zach Mettenberger, Jr., LSU: Mettenberger was a top quarterback prospect coming out of high school, but has very little experience outside of a stint at the junior college level after leaving Georgia. Still, he's certainly an upgrade for the Tigers, and showed this spring that he should make LSU's passing game stronger and more explosive.

Reasonable list other than McCarron being #4. I guess considering he has a year starting experience, it will suffice.

I could care less what Ashycrotch and Lowrider have to say about SEC football.

I like Bray over Murrary and Connor Shaw is something of a wildcard. But the list looks reasonable.

Why shouldn't McCarron be #4? He was a Sophomore last year and the first Sophomore QB to win a NC(I think)? He also threw perfect in the NC game and showed a lot of progression. People saying TM7 got burned need to watch the film again. He was throwing perfect back shoulder throws...

Considering he made that big of a jump in the NC game...he'll probably make an even bigger one into his Junior year...

Change title to include the phrase "SEC" somewhere

Did you not notice at least 70% of his passes were dump passes to his TE and HB across the field.

A few dumps, but played the hi-lo smash game all night.

Agreed...when I saw the title I thought that ESPN was saying Mettenburger was #7 in the country..My first thought was ,DAM that's pretty high for no real starting experience

Let's talk about this at the end of the year.

I've been very reserved about Mett because we haven't seen anything from him yet. We know he has the potential to really carry the team this year, that's no secret.
Deep down inside, I really think he's going to be special though. This is the first time I've come out and said it. I thought JJ was going to finally break through last year, and I was really hyped up over RS when he was recruited. We all know what has happened with those 2, so I've been reluctant to say anything about Mett.
I actually had a dream earlier this week about football and this never happens to me. It was Mett throwing the ball all over the field and blowing teams up. sorta like a highlight reel.
Hope that comes true.

But, but, but, if he's so good why didn't he start last year?!?

He was the best QB on the team last year, but Miles had a thing for Jefferson as everyone knows.

Last year around this time, they ranked Jefferson/Lee ahead of Bray, Wilson, and McCarron...

And the way Lee played in the first half of the season and the second half when he got majority snaps, plus how Jefferson played in the Arkansas game, makes that #3 rating seem not too far fetched.

I agree. The way Lee played last year, that #3 spot is pretty reasonable. Remember he led the SEC in passing efficiency. JJ on the other hand...

That's about where I got him ranked. Mettenberger is clearly behind the "Big 3" (Murray, Wilson, and Franklin). And I think also needs to start out behind Bray and McCarron.

He is in that next group with Shaw and Rodgers. Of course, if he somehow plays up to LSU fans' expectations, he will likely zoom into the Top3 or so. I sure hope so.
