Is it safe to assume Jason Smith is our starting Center?

With the addition of Anderson, we now have Davis, Anderson, and Smith all at the PF position. We don't really have a true Center.

I haven't seen us target any centers in FA so far. I think Davis is too skinny for the Center position. I know Smith has talked about bulking up to play Center.

Do you guys think that is the plan? Or do you think there are some other C's out there that we may target in FA?

Not quite yet. There's a chance Monty will want Davis to start there but personally I think we'd be better off with Smith starting. The chances we sign a starting center this FA is small but I wouldn't say it's out of the question.

No.

We have been tied to Stiemsma, although Boston and Minnesota appear to be in the lead for him. There is also Ian Mahinmi who was a Demps DLeague project he developed for the Spurs.

He was asked about that around the time Davis had his meet and greet and his response was something like "I'll do whatever coach wants me to do but they haven't talked to me about anything like that."

In addition to Stiemsma and Mahinmi, Elton Brand would be a decent stop gap center if we can pick him up on amensty waivers. I think we'll see Center By Committee this season.

this...Smith is just not a center. He plays away from the basket a lot and isn't a very good rebounder. I think it will be Davis at C. His lightness should only be a problem against a few guys, and he will be able to make up for it with his wingspan and blocking ability.

I say just throw Davis out there at C. I think that's what we want him to be eventually. he's the #1 pick.

I think it's safe to assume that Davis and Anderson will both be starting. Therefore, Smith probably won't be. Anderson at the 3 is not a good idea, imo

If we have the pieces in place around it, We dont need to go after and pay a Premier Center. Just have a body that can get some rebounds.

Who was the Miami Heats' Center this year?

who were the Heats' SG, SF, and PF last season?

...the Heat can be terrible at one position because they are incredibly stacked at others.

Davis will be the guy, but we can't just plug some random guy in there and expect to be successful
