What was his reason for leaving LSU? I know this was discussed but dont remember. Being that he was a graduate of LSU, i am puzzled as to why he is at USCe. He done a great job here, so why the move? Thanks in advance

Didnt he go to UNC after LSU?

He did go to UNC. As I recall he was a DL coach, or co-DL coach, which was probably a "promotion" in terms of moving up the food chain of college coaches.
Of course Butch Davis got fired that first season and Joe lost his job along with all the other coaches.
