Both had really good springs from what I have read/watched. Armand has a better chance of seeing significant PT this season though.

Allen has looked good in the Big cats, but don't know how its translating to the field. His problem is the beasts in front of him.

I think they're both very good talents but as another poster mentioned there's just so much talent in front of them.

Allen was dominant in big-cat drills but also as noted that's a very small slice of a total football pie.

Yeah. I remember the word on Armand was his being "raw", but with tremendous athletic upside. From what I remember from ranters is that he didn't see a lot of balls come his way due to a limited qb at Slidell.

Some say Allen is a Miles' favorite but he has at least another year of waiting unless he has improved significantly. Monty,Mingo, Rasco, Edwards are the top 4 with Hunter,Aghayere,Allen and Maclin battling for the remaining time. Hunter may jump the kids on campus. He's very good.

Williams has an uphill battle as well but the picture isn't quite as clouded. Wright,Beckham, Landry and to a point, Shepard are the only sure things at WR. Fobbs,Williams and Boone battling for the 5th spot with the incoming freshman possibly fighting them for time. Dural is likely the best bet.

Sam spoke highly of jordan, says he has all the tools to be the next great LSU de. Didnt even mention other guys, strictly called out Allen as being very impressive.

LSUfanva,

I like your analysis. I too have been wondering about those two players, hoping they'd develop into contributors. Also, I'd like to see Chris Davenport contribute to that O-line, and I'm hoping for some contribution from Mickey Johnson.

I was impressed with Williams at the spring game-although he got off to a shaky start. He caught a few balls that Rivers had thrown behind him. Unlike the five guys mentioned before him, he's a legit redzone target, so that could very well garner him some playing time.
