Yeti Coolers - Worth the Money?

I'd use a cooler in mostly the mountains with high temps around 75 in the summer and lows in the low to mid 40s. Looking to keep ice through 3-4 days without having to drive to a town for more. My brother has one of these who swears by it, but he swears by everything.

Is a $350+ price tag worth it compared to a $80 cooler?

Offshore fishing, yes. Any other use, probably not.

Ice it up the day before then re-ice just before your trip. I find that they hold much better if already cold. If you don't do this they don't hold any better than an igloo.

Try K2 coolers as well. Legit.

Pretty cool/dry areas I'll be in. I guess the bearproof latches are a plus, as well.

Pain in the arse to carry them onto the beach, but for offshore fishing, legit. Even the smaller Yeti was heavy as heck.

The 5-day Igloo (with the very thick lid) is another option for you.

Definitely heavy. My little roadie 20 qt weighs close to 20+ lbs loaded with a 12pk of beer and ice.

Here's the deal.

Everything is always "worth the money" if you have the money to spend. If you can't afford it, don't buy it.

Yes. If you're going to use it then it's worth it.

Exactly

Only poor people will hate on the Yeti. It does what it says it does.

I guess my other concern is, I'd use this guy maybe 2-3 times a year. In the winter, I keep my shite in my car and it stays frozen.

Love mine, but its only good for the boat or if you know you are going to be stationary. I use it almost every weekend.

Like another poster said, ice it up the day before it will give you 3-4 days. If not, it will be just another ice chest.
