Al-Farouq seems to be one of our more polarizing players. People either hate him or love him.

I was just wondering if anybody caught this article and what people thought. Did it sway anybody at all? Or do you just think, "F the numbers, I know what i saw" ?

Aminu is not a starting caliber player.

I'd like to see what he can do with a full traning camp under his belt before making a decision on him.

It all depends on his jump shot. If he can hit open jumpers he's a useful player, if not he needs to be moved while he still has trade value.

I don't really care what happens this year beyond the development of our young players, so I'm all for giving he and Henry every chance to be players.

If they don't work out they don't work out, and we spend money next year on SF and C or draft one.

I don't think we've had a starting-caliber 3 in years.

The difference between a subpar one in Aminu and a subpar one in Ariza is about $12m in guaranteed money.

He became a very good rebounder towards the end of the year, but his ceiling isn't much higher than he is now, imo.

Of course, he looked below average in yesterdays game against Venezuela only scoring 2 points in the first 3 1/2 quarters and finished with 10. His defense wasn't great, either.

I think Ariza was a starting caliber SF.

I completely agree Fun Bunch. We're most likely not going to compete to win it all next year, plus,we'd have to vastly over pay most of the Free Agents on the market. So, I think we throw these guys to the wolves and see who comes back with supper.

ETA: I don't expect AFA to suddenly become all world. The rebound statistics just really intrigued me.

He's basically a talented wing stopper. At peak, he's probably more like a Thabo Sefolosha player. A good player to have, but not necessarily one you want on the floor for 48 minutes.

Isn't AFA a dumb frick like JuJu? I don't feel like he has a high basketball IQ at all. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't if he's quite on the level of JuJu, but i feel like most of that lost look he had earlier on in the season was being on a new team. The reason I don't think he'll be JuJu 2.0 is because JuJu's main flaw was intensity and energy. AFA can never be faulted for lack of effort.

I don't think it's fair to compare him to JuJu but he won't ever be anything special

Aminu's the typical measurements guy that gets drafted way too early every year.

I wonder who NBA GMs would chose if presented with the two options?

It's a borderline stupid comparison that is just being parroted at this point.

A great slasher type who will hopefully develop a jumper. He is a pretty good defender, great rebounder, hustle player.

Who also can't protect the basketball and can't make jump shots.
