Mingolet is probably better in goal, but it's his feet that concern me. Can he replicate playing the ball 20 yards out to center backs like Reina?

I think the writing in the wall here is that Reina might be gone soon.

Same. Not a bad player, but seems like a waste for 20mil. As of now I think we can do better.

Very, very far from a waste. If bought, he would immediately slot into the first team and would be a huge boost. Here is a fantastic player discussion of him from r/soccer a couple days ago

Far and away his best asset is his pace, which would be immense for our midfield. WIth Lucas and Gerrard in the holding mid spots, there leaves a lot to be desired in terms of sheer pressing ability. Take a look at his acceleration and speed:

With him in the side, this is what our lineup would probably look like (assuming Suarez stays):

-------------Sturridge

Cou-----------Mkhit---------Suarez

That is a great front 4 that can fluidly move at will. Suarez, Coutinho and Mkhit can all play in any attacking position from the midfield, and they can all also play as wingers. Suarez can interchange with Sturridge, and Mkit can even play as a holding mid in a pinch (apparently where he plays for his NT). He has the pace and energy to play box-to-box, something we have been missing badly since Gerrard lost his legs.

Without Suarez:

------------Sturridge/Borini

Cou-------------Mkhit--------Downing/Aspas/Sturridge

Obviously not as good without Suarez, but still a good front 4.

Don't like his touch in tight spaces for that price tag. He does have great pace though

Mkhitaryan coming in spells the end for Shelvey IMO. Henderson will also find himself on the bench. Rodgers making it his team.

Yep. He and Spearing are no better than mid-table or even Championship quality.

Just finished watching, and I didn't think his touch was terrible. A lot of the mistakes in tight spaces came with poor decision making IMO, either from trying to dribble into tight space when an easy one touch pass could be made, or trying to make a tough pass when he had room to control the ball. One thing's for sure, he can make good runs and he has a nose for goal. I think he and Suarez (or Aspas if Luis is gone) would play off Sturridge very well with Coutinho picking out passes. And of course that front will be very fluid, so it's difficult to really tack on a specific formation.

Shelvey is a good player, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting at a big club one day. He has the best passing range of any U21 player I've ever seen. He just needs a manager who can control his emotions on the pitch.

In FIFA, I got hired by Liverpool and bought Draxler and Isco. BR should do that, IMO.

That would be nice. Is Draxler tipped to leave Schalke any time soon?

Some stuff leaked not long ago that Dortmund put in a bid for him but everyone except Draxler denied that. He signed a longterm contract not long ago, I'm sure there's a buyout clause in there somewhere.

Schalke has a chance to be pretty damn good in the near future if they hold on to everyone.

Can't remember what it was, but I remember thinking it was outrageously high for a player his age

I agree, but that's not what I was getting at.

waste for 20mil

I would be very unhappy if we paid 20 for him. If we were throwing down 15 I'd warm up to the idea, but as of now I'd be very unhappy dropping that much on a player who I don't think is worth that price tag.

I will admit I hadn't seen that video. It makes him look like a superstar. I know he has great pace but his touch (in the videos I've seen) has been pretty bad. Pace like that is almost totally negated with a bad touch. The two skills go hand and hand with each other.

I don't necessarily believe this ... I think Hendo still has more surprises up his sleeve.

I think he's definitely got a future here, but for now, Stevie G's in his spot. Still he's a great asset to have on the bench because of his ability to play almost anywhere

Kinda what I was thinking ...

I also would pefer to loan Shelvey off first before we sold him.

JMO (I know many disagree) but I think his potential is greater than Joe Allen's and we should sell Joey off first.

Disagree. If Mkhit joins, Henderson immediately goes to the bench. At least until Stevie retires.
