He wear's the number 9 for Uruguay, but I think he'll take that shirt next year for LFC and leave the #7 for Eriksen!!

I'm trying to figure out what number Luis Suarez will wear at Bayern. Ribery is number 7. Robben is number 10 but maybe he'll leave. It's so exciting to think about!

Mandzukic wears 9. I think he'd still be here next year, maybe he'll want to give the number up. I don't know. Something to ponder.

I honestly think Suarez is the type that doesn't care about his #, he wore #16 for Ajax (although if you pay £50mm for a player, the boss may tell Mandzukic to give it up)... Although, he did admit he may not have chosen #7 if he knew the entire history behind it at LFC..

What about my previous question? Was Cole's contract up after this season?

His contract was a 4 year deal signed in the summer of 2010. He would have had one more year remaining.

I know I'm a red glasses kind of guy, but after reading this and thinking the last week or so... Anyone think it worked out best not signing Sneijder? There was a part in the back of my head that said Joe Cole redux and being hung with a huge contract... Again, hindsight...

This or Cou's gives up the #10 or Assaidi is let on loan or something and CE gets the #11

Really frustrating second half. Happy we were able to pull it together and hold on at the end, but we gave up 2 points with that abysmal showing in the second.

We should have won that game for sure. Lacked offense for a majority of the second half.

Should've maybe killed them off in the first half... but all things considered, it was a fair result...

I thought we still need to work on the defence. Two goals inside 2 minutes is what let us down. And we need better wingers/attacking mids for sure.

I agree and to his credit, while he doesn't possess one single ounce of grace on the pitch, Carra is not afraid to get stuck in and those younger defenders could learn a lot... his physical skills may have diminished, but not his heart (and his love of lumping up long balls)...

Carra is massive in the defence.
However, I thought we lost possession a little easily because we kept lumping the ball forward in the second half. Allowing Arsenal to keep attacking wave after wave and when you have such contact battering by a clearly offensive team the goal was bound to come. We need to clear our lines better but not thump it into the opponent's feet. I just hope this augurs well.
Also while Pepe did well to save a couple of shots very well he was completely off-guard for the Walcott thumper. That was easily save-able I thought. I think the commentators on the stream I was watching agreed.

Poor tactics IMO. Arsenal was there for the taking and we instead tried to counter with no pace on the field.

This was the general consensus at Finns.

If you're gonna sit deep and play on the counter, why not start Suarez up top with Sterling and Sturridge on either side? Let Suarez sit in the hole between the CBs and DM, attacking the gaps and allowing players to make runs off of him. Instead, Suarez was often playing deeper than Johnson and Sturridge was completely isolated to a degree I haven't seen from an LFC player since Kenny left. Sterling and Sturridge could have stretched the field and really torment Arsenal's abysmal defense.

Suarez has many terrific qualities, but leading a counter is not one of them.

Instead, we invited Arsenal to throw everything they can at our already mediocre defense and keeper who has one of the lowest save percentages in the league. It was always a matter of time when Arsenal would find the net.
