Ehh, idk. Something is up with him. I think it may be more due to his acclimation to the league than his fitness level. I really don't know. Maybe a strong ACON will give him a shot at the starting XI. Idk..

Idk what the deal is with sahin, I didn't really follow the bundesliga that closely when he was with Dortmund, then last year he probably never saw the pitch and this year I've only seen him play twice. So needless to say I don't know much about him. I do know that he was a highly regarded talent when he left bvb. Perhaps he's plateaued a bit since then. Dortmund also has a much stronger squad than they did 2.5/3 years ago.

Over the winter break fsc has shown a dumb amount of Liverpool games, so I have to admit I'm kind of a scouse now haha I just love mr Suarez. Gerard resurgence has also coincided with my increased viewing. I'm a big BR fan. Hoping pool can slip into a Europa league spot by seasons end

I also think part of Sahin's problem is he really hasnt played regularly since he left Dortmund... That will stunt any player's progress...

I could tell you were somewhat of a closet LFC supporter!

Haha well it is what it is, have to support the reds. Can't be trading my colors for blue.

I'm not so optimistic about the sturridge signing, for some reason I catch bad vibes just looking at him. Lots of potential though. What was the fee? I feel like it wasn't all that high, so not necessarily bad business or anything, I just don't know how good he will end up.

And yes, I'm sure Sahin has probably regretted making the jump to RM and would love to come back to Dortmund. Their central midfield is clogged with talent though, I don't see him just waltzing into his old spot

£12mm..

the way I look at it, he came up with Man City and was ready to break in with the first team when they were bought by the Sheik and started signing Santa Cruz, Jo, Robinho, etc.

So, his contract was up and he went to Chelsea where, of course, they had Drogba and Anelka and the owner's infatuation with Torres... never going to get a real shot, but he scored regularly on loan at bolton and even scored when he played on the wing last year at Chelsea...

Now, he moved to LFC and has a manager and star of the team, who are willing to accommodate him in his preferred position, for the betterment of the team... i think he knows this his last shot at a big club and if he doesnt succeed here, he will be at the Stokes, Fulhams, West Hams of the league...

I know that was long winded, but I'm excited for him... Hope we see him amd Luis together against the Scum this weekend!

So that's around €10mm or so? Not incredibly risky, but idk what pools transfer budget looks like. Most of my sturridge viewing experience came when he was with team gb, I think he's a good enough player and even bigger talent, but like I said I catch bad vibes from him for some reason. Like you said though, I hope he realizes this is his last shot and takes advantage of it. Is the game this weekend live on fsc?

Yeah, not too risky...

Remember also, that those appearances with Team GB were right after a bout with Meningitis, that almost didnt allow him to participate...

I wasn't comfortable with the idea of bringing Sturridge on initially (somewhere lost in this deep thread are posts where I expressed my ill feelings regarding him as a potential transfer target), but I feel really good about him knowing that Brendan wants him. He has worked with him before, so he knows him. If he's good enough for Rodgers, then he's good enough for me. I think the price tag was fair.

Pool at least tries to play real soccer, so I can't hate them too much. Since I don't follow EPL that closely I kind of bounce around with the teams I "support"

Kind of like pool, swans, spurs
Don't hate everton or fulham. Always enjoyed watching arsenal fail, don't dislike them but a lot of my IRL friends are gooners so naturally it's fun to tease them.

Rest of the clubs are meh to me. Don't really hate any of them more than the other and despite what bho or Randall savage might say, no, I'm not "mad bro." in fact idk why I would be, I would have to hate a lot of teams this year with the way the saints played if I just resorted to hating any team that beat my team. Thankfully, I'm not a miserable person. I am, however very bored and have been posting on my phone from my bed. So please excuse any typos or comma splices

Good point, almost forgot about his illness. He still played pretty well though. Minus that PK of course, but he's a Brit after all

One of the fantastic things about supporting LFC is the community on the Soccer Board. Our thread is very active and the conversation is always lively. Lots of different posters pitch in to the discussion and it makes following the club a lot more fun.
