I find it way too much of a pain in the arse and too expensive to make. Just buy one of the many jarred dry rubs. They are on the spice isle. There is everything from Memphis to Carolina rubs.

?
Brown sugar, garlic powder, cayenne, paprika, salt, pepper, cumin. Shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks.

Most of the stuff you should have in the pantry already.... But to answer the original question, here's the one I'm going to try out tomorrow. Frist time, so I can't speak to the results yet.
1/4 cup light brown sugar (pack it in good)

3 tbls pepper

4 tbls ks

1/4 cup paprika (get sweet paprika, not smoked)

1 1/2 tbls garlic powder

1 teaspoon cayenne powder

1 teaspoon coriander

1 teaspoon cumin

My usual rub is just plain brown sugar. The ribs come out great. I sometimes add some garlic powder and a little cayenne to change things up.

I soak mine over night in apple cider vinegar, then take them out and add this rub while the smoker warms up:

Use mostly - at least half of the entire mixture: brown sugar
then equal of:
chili powder
garlic powder
black pepper
red pepper
cummin

If you don't use anything but Lowreys seasoning salt it will be great.

Edit. If you want to buy a rub, this is a good one.

If you're not up to making your own, I really like tom douglas' pork rub...whole foods and sur la table (I believe) sell it. It's awesome on pork chops, too.

This is what I've been picking up lately. The reason I like it is because salt is not the first ingredient. The ingredients are: brown sugar, chili powder, salt, red pepper, white pepper, dehydrated minced garlic, sodium aluminosilicate, dehydrated granulated garlic.

Made in Crowley.

The price recently jumped at the places I could find it. Fresh Pickins has a $4.29 price tag placed over the old $2.99 sticker.
