From the very few comments in the replay thread it seemed we kinda were just average.

I thought they looked damn good in the second half, just couldn't finish at all. Wilshere was amazing out there, and Cazorla looked good as well. Diaby seemed clueless with that ball at his feet once he got past the midfield circle. Walcott missed a lot of opportunities. Giroud had some nice touches with his back to the goal, but never really threatened to score. Defense was never really threatened.

I want to reiterate how good Wilshere looked. He was by the best player on the field.

I wonder what we could have done last year with a healthy Wilshere. Maybe we could have kept... *sobs uncontrollably*

Put this in the FA Cup thread but will also post here:

Watched the game when I got home last night. We definitely picked up where we left off with our play in the last 45 minutes of the first game. That was the worst we have looked in a while. I think Chico had more touches on the ball than most of our MFs. I continue my love-hate relationship with Nathan Dyer as well and it is full fledged hate right now.

Hats off to Arsenal though. They deserved that one. Wilshere was a beast the entire game.

And somebody please teach Wenger how to zip up his damn jacket

Now, about this whole Cavani stuff. I think I saw somewhere that he has a $63 mil buyout clause. Why would there be any legs to this rumor if Arsenal would have to pay almost 3 times what they got for van Persie? Wouldn't Wenger have just given up the money to keep the best striker in England instead? Am I missing something?

Someone asked Wenger specifically about Cavani. He answered he liked him but that he cost a lot. He was joking around. Somehow that became "WE ARE GOING AFTER CAVANI." Release clause too high, napoli needn't sell him for any lower as they're in the title/CL race ATM. No chance it happens.

I can't wait for the Champions League to come back. The winter break is killing me.

Arsenal should be worried about that champions league tie. Bayern plays really well away from home, it could get pretty ugly

Don't worry Tweezy. I am very concerned. No matter the outcome the soccer should be good to watch.

No doubt, there will be some quality players on the field. I just worry arsenal won't be able to handle the high press and absolutely shite the bed like we've seen them do against sides much much worse than FCB. I could also see them competing well, but I predict a 4-1 aggregate

Wilshere and Arteta are going to have to be great for Arsenal to have a chance.

Our best bet against Bayern is to play counterattacking football. Play a fluid, athletic front 3 (poldi/Theo/ox), try to absorb some pressure and let Cazorla, Wilshere, and/or Diaby try and create on the break. Not sure we're ruthless enough up front to get the job done though. Or good enough at the back for that matter...haha.
