That is a very strong lineup against the weakest side in our group. Going for the advancement and security.

I hope to see Walcott at some point in the match though.

He's injured.

Not a bad showing from our guys at all, little disjointed at times but a good number of chances.

The match commentator mentioned that Giroud and Podolski's combined goal scoring output equals Van Persie's scoring tally at this point last season.

same basic formula as Song to RVP in his volley vs Everton last season. not as good as that one, but still a crackin-arse goal.

Giroud's one touch pass to Poldi was sublime though. Opened his body up to angle the pass correctly, and the weight on it was perfect. The finish was more reminiscent of RvP's effort versus Charlton all those years ago.

yeah I watched Giroud about 10 times in a row to try and focus on his precise movement and touch. almost want to appreciate his tiny but perfect little chip more than the goal itself

BFG - my favorite Arsenal player nickname right now

Also, we signed a 150mil pound/5 year deal with the Emirates for shirt naming rights (also included: a stadium naming right extension). Second highest deal behind ManU. First 30mil will be received this summer. We were getting a little over 9mil a year under our old deal.

It's just not good enough. How many shots did we have on goal?

Also, what is the deal with our players playing like scrubs?

Podolski, Ramsey, and Coq with terrible crosses, Gervinho and Giroud with terrible touch.

What the hell is up with our strategy of playing it outside and trying to cross it in? It's not working. We don't have height, except Giroud, and that's not working. We play better on the ground. In fact, I would say that AV played our game today better than we did.

Seriously, not one player on our team looked worthy of playing on the winning Arsenal teams of yesteryear. Not one.

Per played alright. I liked the offensive presence Gibbs gave us but he's offsides too often.

Pretty cool the similarities between the two goals.
