It's something we've never done before.

I put a rub on outside see below... take beer can, drink half then I add Italian dressing and Allegro to the beer can- shove in the chicken and put on the grill. Full size chicken cook around 1.5-2hrs.

Chicken Rub:
4 tablespoons onion powder
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt
1-1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon (or to taste) of cayenne pepper/ Tonys
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon dried sage

Shave down a potato and plug its neck.

That rub is sold in a can. I think it's pretty simple, add some juice to the beer for "extra" flavor and grill. Nothing too complicated about that!
