Good. I would hate for him to get injured during the Olympics.

Yeah. He told Switzerland no thanks. He wants to come in and get a place for Bayern early on.

That's refreshing, glad he seems to be going all in here. Huge opp for him, looks like he has some maturity for his age, even though I've heard he's a bit arrogant.

Klopp is already playing mind games. He said that Bayern is clearly the favorites to win the Bundesliga next year because of their summer signings.

You motherfricker, the one we really wanted was Reus

I feel like every klopp quote I've ever seen before or after their games always had "bayern are the better club" thrown in there. fricking bastard, he's either campaigning for the next bayern job or hes running mental laps around jupp.

ETA was shaq a plan b for Reus or were we trying to get him the whole time? Love them both

I think we were trying to get both honestly. I would prefer Reus but I love Shaq so far.

Quotes from the new guys:

Pizza -

quote:

“Win everything. Everything there is. That's the target," he said on Wednesday."

With six years of FCB under his belt, the player is unconcerned about the battle for places in attack. “Competition is totally normal, you get it at every club," said the man who is the leading foreign scorer in Bundesliga history with 160 goals. He has also not forgotten his arrival in Munich back in 2001: “We had five strikers at the time, so it was even more difficult."

Dante -

quote:

I'm really thrilled, it couldn't be better," he said, “I'm very, very, very happy."

Dante Bonfim Costa Santos, to give the Brazilian his full name, has been in Europe for a while now, having played for Lille, Charleroi, Liège and Mönchengladbach. But joining Bayern, he already insists, “is my best move." The 28-year-old is looking for a crowning glory to his career. “I’ll think of what’s best for the group and give everything to win trophies," he stated.

Shaq -

quote:

In order to focus completely on making a good start in Munich, Shaqiri has opted not to take part at the Olympic Football Tournament in London. “I have to integrate into my new team. It was clear to me from the start that I was inclined towards Bayern, even if every player dreams of competing at the Olympics,” explained Shaqiri. “It would certainly have been a great experience, but I can only integrate fully if I’m 100 percent here.”

“I really enjoyed making my start here,” the Swiss international said between sessions, “I’ve been quickly and warmly accepted by my new team-mates.” Shaqiri, who left top Swiss outfit FC Basel last month for a four-year stint in Munich, said he feels “very comfortable” at his new club.

“I’ve played through the last three seasons at FC Basel without a break. It’s the perfect time to try my hand abroad,” said Der Kraftwürfel, or “power cube” as Shaqiri is nicknamed for his physical appearance and dynamic playing style. “Bayern is the perfect club for me,” he continued.

Der Kraftwurfel

quote:

Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes described the gifted attacking midfielder as “a street footballer, who plays the game intuitively”. However, Shaqiri will need to be “brought up to FC Bayern levels,” the head coach continued. “It’s different here, as he’ll soon notice.” However, Heynckes believes the Swiss starlet has the quality “to make life difficult for the established players”.

In Basel, the left-footed Shaqiri generally played as an attacking right midfielder, although he has also featured on the left, in the centre and at full-back. “I think it’s an advantage nowadays when you’re versatile and not confined to one single position,” said a clearly confident Shaq, who has set himself one overriding priority: “I intend to make the breakthrough here!”

Can't wait for the power cube to assert himself in the lineup. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's starting by winter break

looks like the javi deal has fallen through :( a few rumors flying around now, possibly lars bender or snjieder. the dutchman would be interesting and all but assure a formation change.

I wouldn't mind Lars but apparently he grew up an 1860 guy so it's questionable if he'd come. Neuer was also a schalke ultra and he gladly came so who knows. We need to get something figured out. I guess sammer is real high on Lars so that's the flavor of the day.

Truth hurts sometimes.

I won't take your anger personally, though.

No I'm not. I'd rather buy Bender and a young defender with that money.

Well it's one thing to prefer something else instead of him. It's an entirely different thing to say you DON'T want him.

I love the idea of picking him up, along with a young defender if we could pull that off. No one flashy like Javi Martinez, but more of Vertonghen type.

Sneijder wouldn't fit in with the team. We already have one Dutch a-hole. Just seems unnecessary.
