I agree wholeheartedly but it just pisses me off to see hawks fans rejoice like he was a terrible player for them.

He made them relevant again.

It's not his fault management couldn't draft, and gave him that outrageous contract.

Ya, if they wait just one year, they can go after MUCH better players/contracts than JJ.

not if they kept lopez and williams. that's going to be about $30M for just them

I loved Joe. He gave the Hawks a few great years and made us competitive again. He just isn't worth that contract.

it was the contract man. I liked Joe I appreciate his time, but the contract is dead.

and Marvin is gone too.

I think both are going to better situations and wish em well.

Going home to ATL might be the best thing for Dwight's image, but Dallas could be a player next summer.

Which is why no one is happy to see him go. We are all happy to see his contract go.

Magic would be better off treating Dwight as an expiring rather than take take Roddy and bunch of trash

ETA: Yeah, next summer perhaps. Not right now

think NJ is going to pay a lot, but has drastically improved their team (assuming williams stays)

Thats a pretty damn good team assuming Lopez rebounds the ball like he did his 1st 2 years in the league and they can find a couple decent backup bigs.

Interesting

Dallas would have two options then. Sit on their cap space and sign a bunch of one year deals and then go after Dwight next year or just get it over with now and trade for him

Dirk isn't gettig any younger, so trade for Dwight and somehow offer Nash to lead Dallas back to the promise land

Make it happen Cuban

Why don't you explain how the $8 million TPE can be applied to Dwight's salary in a trade?

Because I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that.

It wouldn't be just that but it could be used. Magic would have to be desperate though. Mavs have nothing to offer. Best case scenario is Lakers to get Bynum but LA doesn't want to do that

Trade exception would just help Dallas absorb some of Howard's contract. I think it was $8.9 from Odom
