Assuming we sign the standard 25, and there are no defects with the current 17, lets all give our final 8 guys in this class. Here is mine.
1. Lewis Neal-DE (Coaches love him and I think he commits very soon)
2. Greg Gilmore-DT (As soon as mom sees BR he is a Tiger, and it will be public sooner than previously thought with his buddy Neal commiting)
3. Rashard Robinson-DB (Absolute stud and will be a commit after the July camp)
4. Rickey Jefferson-CB (Same description as Robinson, all LSU)
5. Desean Smith-TE (All LSU, only a matter of time before he commits)
6. Kendall Beckwith-OLB (Staff has him as a top 3 prospect in the state, and they wont lose him as a top priority)
7. Tim Williams-DE (Same description as Beckwith, staff will do whatever it takes to keep this guy in state)
8. Priest Willis-DB (A lot of people feel he is a LSU lean, Im just waiting on him to visit. With USC filling up, I could see him in Purple and Gold.)
Guys who they will make room for if they want in:
1. Robert Nkemdiche-DL (Clemson is pulling out all the stops, I think he will stick with them)
2. Torrodney Prevot-DE (I think he stays in Texas)
3. Mackenzie Alexander-CB (Wild card type guy. A big season on the field for us could swing him our way)
4. Rickey Seales-Jones-WR (He was just trying to scare Texas into letting him play basketball)
5. Eddie Vanderdoes-DT (Dont buy him leaving the west coast)
What yall got?

I agree with your predictions, I think we snag Pevot though. That's just my opinion

Same.
I disagree with Beckwith- I think Prevot instead-- Don't think we sign Beckwith.. if we do, it will be a surprise with me.
Last spot could be anyone's guess.

Take it a step further. If it finishes like you predict, top five class?
I think so.
And not that it matters It is fun to talk about though.

were knocking on the door with rivals and 247 top 5 now. so i think we will crack it with that finish. and if were lucky we may crack espn's top 20

I don't know man I'm not big on Pevot, some believe hes the Mingo but I just don't see it hes smaller than some DB's physically. Care more about getting Willis

I think the OP has it pegged correctly based on what we know currently. There's always someone that flies up the board late though.
I'm not giving up on Willis until he flatout says he's not going to LSU or signs somewhere. I think we're going to get him though I wouldn't put money on it.

how about priest, rashard, and tashaan to finish up db's.. ppl are saying tredavious is the best athlete in the state and is a lockdown corner. with those four we'd be set. RJ at wr?? or white ad wr and RJ as db? what would be better??
Posted on 7/2/12 at 10:57 pm to bayoubengalfan4life
Don't forget about J. Brazil, but I have thought LSU should look at him as a possible WR more than a DB, given his incredible speed. However, many project him as a great cover corner prospect.

i agree with brazil to WR. some ppl are saying brazil seems more comfortable at WR. They say he struggled at times with footwork etc. playind db..
with what ive heard about white being such a lockdown corner you may be right about JB's speed being utilized on offense. RR & white may be all we need at corner, ill be happy with those two there. IF we land willis to, ill probably just pass out right then and there

I don't like saying anything negative about potential recruits but Prevost got owned in the Nike camps. He is just to light in the britches. Not saying that he can't add strength and weight later. But right now, he is an after thought. Let the coaches make their final evaluations, they are doing a great job so far.
