1)Does Monty want to keep Jack? 2) What can we get for him?

Does Monty want JJ to help develop Rivers as a 2 guard going to the 1. Trade him at the deadline?

I know the Lakers are looking for a PG. I would much rather Jack over any others they are looking for.

quote:

It's no secret that the Lakers would like to bring back unrestricted free agent Ramon Sessions, but if a deal can't be worked out they are making sure they'll have other options.

"While the Lakers have genuine interest in retaining the 26-year-old Sessions," writes Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com, "they're protecting themselves by pursuing a list of established, veteran free-agent point guards as well, a source familiar with the team's plan for free agency said.

"The Lakers are targeting a handful of veteran point guards including Chauncey Billups, Jameer Nelson and Kirk Hinrich, the source said."

Derek Fisher could also be a possibility, but he'll be 38 next season and his days as a starting point guard are likely over.

I feel he is definitely worth a 2014 mid 1st rounder

I think Jack will bring the most value at the trade deadline. Unless they want to move him now to give other guys minutes you wait until the deadline and hope for a 2013 1st from a playoff team.

the 2013 draft sucks, i would want a late lottery/mid-first. I really hope we can get a 2014 pick.

I definitely feel you are smoking crack,

I like JJ, but to think a team looking for PG is going to give a 1 st rnd pick for an average PG on a below avg team ( last year)is bit delusional

i think you are smoking crack. A backup PG is all you think we can get for JJ ? Jack is a good backup PG on a contending team. And I probably undervalue Jack the most out of any other poster on this board.

We gave up a 1st for Bayless, the Pacers gave their 1st for George Hill. Hell, the Rockets just got the 17th for Buddinger. It's very possible that we can get a mid-1st for Jack.

Unless Austin rivers and Vasquez play really well the first half of the season, I don't think we should trade him at all this year

If neither of them play well this year we should trade him anyway. He is an expiring contract. I dont think we'll be re-signing him with Vasquez and Rivers. We already know Vasquez is a below average starter at worst. At least get something out of him.

I suppose so, I just don't want to toss him away for a late first pick in a weak draft.

I feel u. If we feel with him we can get into the second round in the playoffs and without him we cannot then u keep him.
