How to install your ar front pivot pin and not shoot your detent accross the roo

I will try and get the pics smaller.
Go to the hardware store and get pick up a 1/4" clevis pin with holes in it. slide pin in from right side of reciever.

Line up the first hole with hole in the reciever and place your spring and detent in.

Push the detent and spring down with a small punch and start to pull the clevis pin out a little to capture it.


Place your pivot pin against the clevis pin and start pushing it thru.

I used a small flat file I have. That seems like a lot of work. I like USMC's guitar pick idea as well.

I used a thin knife blade. I did have the detent fly across the room on my second build but luckily i found the bastard. Gave me fits on my brick floors though. Your method looks great though.
