squirrel Proof Bird Feeder Recommendations

I've had a bird feeder up for a couple of months now and the kids love it, love watching the birds ect. The only problem is that the damn squirrels are getting to it and just sitting there getting fat. Yes, I've shot several and I'm tired of doing that everyday. Looking for some good recommendations for a squirrel proof feeder. I will consider it a plus if the feeder provides entertainment at the same time. So far I'm looking at this one:

Why not buy a squirrel corn feeder and just feed the squirrels?

It is worth buying for the pure entertainment value.

Back home my dad has a huge squirrel problem, his solution is one of these type bird feeders
sitting on a piece of 2.5' x 2.5' piece of plastic on top of a pole in the ground with no trees above for them to jump from. it works
He has a slightly larger diameter piece of pole in the ground that the other one slides into, so he can remove it easily

I have one that has a spring loaded outer section that shuts off the holes if anything larger than a collared dove sits on a perch.

I've had a large 5 gal birdfeeder behind the house for many yrs which I keep loaded with black sunflower seeds (~ 50 lb/mo). To keep the squirrels and coons off I first tried greasing the pole. They would wear the grease off after about a week (greasy squirrels everywhere) which required more grease be added.
Then I tried an electric fence set up. Heavy copper wire with insulators coiled loosely up the poll (starts about halfway up)tied to the positive terminal. Negative copper coil coiled in the open spaces of the first coil (and grounded) such that squirrels have to contact both to climb the pole. Problem solved.
That was about 10 yrs ago and it is the final solution. The squirrels rarely try to climb but when they do they become flying squirrels when they get the jolt. Always stop to watch when I see one looking up at all the birds feeding.

Yes sir, already tried that route too. Was funny at first, but they are persistent little bastards.

The first electric fence charger I used was a constant amp one that fried many a squirrel. I switched to a pulse charger and they are able to let go and and fly (amazing how far those little bastards can jump).

Make a triangle . Then drill holes at base for a bolt to pass through. Then slip a PC pipe over the support poles above where the bolt goes through. Make the bolt larger than the PVC pipe diameter. Install bird feeder. The PVC pipe will spin on the bolt as something of weight tries to.climb it. Works great on the legs of deer feeders....if possible get a few metal sleeves to fit over the bolt on each side of the post where the PVC will sit. Makes em roll easy as shite

Squirrel buster plus FTW!
We have 3 of them. The squirrels don't even bother messing with the feeders anymore, but every spring there's a new batch of squirrels that have to learn.
