Searched a little, but didn't see this posted yet on HT, so sorry if Germs, but...

Ford had us trading our #10 to Indiana for the #26 and Darren Collison. Not sure I would like this. At all.

that would be a horrible trade...Collison is not the player I was hoping he would be by now.

Collison would struggle to be our backup PG at this point...

We need the General's size and we need the Gentleman's scoring ability.

Exactly. Why would we want a PG who we already traded, that lost his starting job last year and move back 16 picks. If Jack plays like he did last year, I'd rather him over Collison anyway.

I still like Collison and think that he's a safe bet to be a legit starting NBA PG (for a reasonable salary when he's up, no less). If we acquired him, played him behind JJ for another year, and then he organically became our starter we'd probably have a true starting PG who is 20th best or so for like $4 million a year.

Having a cheap starting 1 (arguably the least important position on the court) would allow us to splurge at the 3 or 5 or at the 6th man position.

Not thrilled about it but it's also not as bad as keeping the 10th and whiffing on a Drummond or Sullinger (should they fail to pain out).

Your 2013/2014 New Orleans Breakers (rating out of 10) and [approximate salary]

PG - Darren Collison (7.00) [$5MM approx]
SG - Eric Gordon (8.50) [$14MM approx]
SF - Rudy Gay (8.25) [$13MM approx]
PF - Anthony Davis (9.5) [$5.25MM approx]
C - Random Free Agent (7.0) [$7MM approx]

That's a 2nd round team, possibly a WCF team in my opinion. And there's still cap room there as that starting 5 only makes $40MM

I'm sorry, but we're talking about the NBA that plays on planet Earth.

His reasoning for making the trade makes absolutely no fricking sense

I would consider Paul George instead of Collison for the trade to swap picks.

Look unless you guys watched the fricking Indiana Pacers at least 30 times this year I doubt you're qualified to pass judgement on whether or not Collison is worth trading down 16 slots for.

I'm going from what I remember of him as a Hornet, in which A) he honestly had the lads playing harder and faster than CP3 did while out with injury and B) virtually ALL of us were sad to see him go.

This might be a completely bullshite rumor from Chad Ford, but if Dell Demps thinks enough of DC Sniper to pull the trigger on this deal (ISWIDT) than we should all green light it and be glad that John Lee Malvo's partner in crime is back in creole blue.

Well it's the fact that we'll have like $25 mill in cap room and will almost certainly buy either a 3 or 1 or 5 next offseason.

Gay seems especially likely but I suppose it could be Harden, CP3, etc. etc.

Gotcha. I would not be opposed to having Rudy Gay on the hornets (or whatever the team name will be).

I'm not sure it was a rumor, I think he was saying it's what he'd do at that spot.
