Green Wing

Anyone ever watch this? I haven't seen any threads in a search but I must say, the British have done it again. I just started it last week and have to say it is one of the funnier shows I've ever seen. It is actually an older show (2004-2006), but I just saw it on Netflix instant and gave it a shot. Well worth it.

It is an hour long comedy show that takes place in a hospital and follows several doctors and some of the other hospital staff. There really doesn't seem to be any sort of story line that they follow. It's more or less a bunch of sketch comedy scenes involving the repeated instances of character flaws/dysfunction, dumbassery, raunchy sexual innuendo, overt sexual references, word play and non-sequitors.

I'm on episode 5 and I've concluded that there are really only two characters that aren't complete idiots. The rest of them have their own enormously overt dysfunctional qualities. The scenes bring those qualities out in a unique way each time. The writing is excellent and the actor's timing is spot on.

The post production editing (speed up/slow down) and the music have grown on me. At first it was a little annoying, but I actually like it now. They use it a lot but it seems to be mainly used between scenes and it works for me, although I would completely understand if someone didn't like it. Even if you don't like it, it's not enough to take away from the overall quality of the show.

If you enjoy British humor, I think this is a must watch.
