Do you prefer to play in leagues with 8 or more bench players, or leagues with 4-6 bench players?

I have played in leagues for years with large benches and I have found that its not quite as competitive and teams hoard players.
I played in a league last season with 4 bench players and I found that it was the most competitive and fun league I've ever been in.

Thoughts?

small bench- allows owners who don't know much the opportunity to grab guys out of the deep free agent pool

large bench- allows owners who know what they are doing to get the good guys and have them on their bench

I like the larger bench. It allows me to have adequate number of backups for each position.

We do 9 starters and 6 bench spots in a 12 team league.

I like the small benches. It is very competitive and if you play the free agent pool right you can be very successful. You just have to play the right players at the right times.

being able to hoard players takes the fun out of it.

IMO...

10 team = 4 bench spots

12 team = 5 bench spots

Large benches are ok if you have position limits.
