I live in MS about 50 miles inland, so conditions aren't usually very different, regarding winds anyway. Went to Reggio last Tuesday and the winds were kicking from the SE, and the water was WAY high. I know there's been high water along the coast all week due to the SE winds, including here in South MS. But it looks like tomorrow (and in fact tonight) the winds are from the NNE. Don't y'all think this should keep the water levels down?

The reason I'm asking is because I've been going every Tuesday since I've been home, but with Debbie, I figured that might not be a go this week. So I wanna go tomorrow after church to Reggio/Delacroix.

Aminuts?

I said inshore. I'm talking about 1'-2' redfish ponds about 500 yds from the launch. More concerned about water level than wave height.

I know some of you have camps near or in the marsh. What would these NNE winds do to the water blowing overnight at 15 mph? Totally drain the place? Or lower the levels to a fishable level? As of yesterday, I know it was too high to even fish. The reds were in the grass Tuesday...literally in the grass.

Yeah, that's how it's been all week. Hopefully this NNE wind will let it out. I'm not concerned about waves...like I said, I'll be fishing 500 yds from the launch in protected water. Just concerned about water level...like can I get to the launch, and will the fish be in the tree tops...or will they be sitting off points letting the finally FALLING tide sweep baitfish to them?

good question....seems the water came up even more this evening to me just while I was fishing. The wind certainly will not hurt.

I think Ima go anyway. Sloopy, what area did y'all fish, and how'd you do? Not asking for particulars...I know the area very well. How far did you run and did you go down Terre Aux Bouefs are Gentilly?

Saw where surrounding parishes around Pontchitrain and Meaurepas are under coastal flood advisories and they are expecting 2 to 3' higher. I know that's not where you are talking about but they also mentioned 20 to 25mph gust.

Good luck on whatever you do

The water is a 18" high at the house form the past week of south winds. Depending on what Debbie does, we could get another 6" without rain. My point is the water levels will be a good bit higher than normal times...

ETA and I am a good but inland...

Water was up a few feet in port sulfur today. Smoked the reds in the ponds with a stiff wind.
