Anybody going to check it out?

As long as Sorkin is involved, I'm sure it's going to be good. I watched the 15 minute preview on HBO and it looks promising.

Jeff Daniels' character seems like a colossal dick in some of the promos.

I'll give anything on HBO a try, and give it more of a chance if Sam Waterston is involved.

Looks a lot like Sportsnight to me which was Sorkins best TV show. When is it starting?

Supposedly, the Jeff Daniels character's inspiration are from Sorkin himself, and Kieth Olbermann.

I want to like this show, but i see it as being a giant liberal asswipe.

I've missed my weekly Sam Waterson so I was in and soon as I saw he was in it. Even better that its Sorkin. Overall it looks like a pretty solid cast. Jeff Daniels looks great in the previews. I liked Alison Pill in Milk and Scott Pilgram vs. The World. I'm anxious to see Dev Patel outside of Slumdog Millionaire. And from cast listing on IMDB even Ned Vaughn as an appearance.

I'd say it has a good chance of being pretty solid.

I heard it got bad reviews.

When does Boardwalk Empire start again?

And is Mad Men going to play grab arse for three years before beginning a new season again????

There is nothing else on TV that is worth watching... Other than sports...

I wonder from who? Reason I ask is that given the obvious political spin on the show I could see where it might get knocked for that.

Boardwalk starts in September I believe.

Yea, I'll give it a look until it becomes an HBO/Hollywood liberal love fest. I'm hoping it remains neutral but that's asking a great deal from this ilk.

If it's well written I don't really care. Sorkin was pretty fair in the West Wing considering it was about a Democratic White House. I am able to separate politics from entertainment pretty well. It's just something I've come to expect with Hollywood.

I believe his character is actually supposed to be conservative but not a nut.

"i'm a registered republican but I believe that hurricanes are caused by high barometric pressure and not gay marriage"

That's a quote from a trailer if I remember correctly.

The reviews are bad even from the liberal outlets. Check out huffpo and salon.

Sorkin is a big douche and just wants to write a vehicle to get his values out. This thing is transparent. He is creatively bankrupt. Couldnt pay me to watch this crap.

eta: And I friggin LOVE Sam Waterston.
