Looking at the 500 vort, 12z Euro vs 18z GFS, they are somewhat similar through 48/54 hrs but the Euro is digging the system out west a bit more and pumping up the ridge a bit more. There are a lot of moving parts to this one, maybe even more so than normal. I'm thinking 40% Texas, 40% Florida, 20% in between and the further west it gets the better chance it has at gaining some strength. Looking at the SOI can sometimes give some hints at ridge strength and placement but I'm too tired to mess with that tonight.

dibs on sig quote ........

I would like to see it hold at 00Z but we will probably see plenty of model flopping.

We used to model flop back in college. TFM

re: Official TS Debby Thread

well, the congruence of a 324dz low pressure cell that is going to draw energy for the 765cz high pressure over montana is going to create a 34.8 sub divergence and create a slight wobble in the eye ... furthermore, i conclude that the prevailing winds that are causing a 65gz uplift over sector C7 will cause this storm to move in a classic Helinian 1927 path over quadrant 67, subset 22 ..

I'm just waiting for the classic hook echoes on the doppler. That's all we care about in B'ham. We don't do standard hook echoes here, son.
