Trying to figure out the best way to sell it. I have heard of a certain bayou shooting enthusiast site that shall remain nameless but was curious if there were any other good ways to go about it. Had to familiarize myself on La private sale law and was surprised how lax things are in regard to this. I definitely plan to write up a bill of sale with the serial number to cover myself. Any advise is appreciated.

I'm thinking like $430. $100 off retail and no tax to have to cover for the buyer ($60). It is practically brand new, just got it in Feb and have only put a few hundred rounds through it at the range. I want to keep it because it is a great firearm but I just bought it at a bad time and things have come up since.

Bought it from Bass Pro so yes I assume they register it when you purchase it and they do the background check.

Contact the Local Sheriff's form and ask for a "Fire Arm Re-Registration Application Form". Don't take no for an answer cause they don't like being bothered from their donut buffet sometimes.

Would I have to pay to do a full transfer through an authorized agent in order to do that?

No, you just need the buyer and seller to sign off on this application and turn it back in to the sheriff's office to transfer registration of firearm.

Your gun isn't registered when you buy it in Louisiana.
The buyer of your gun has more concern with a bill of sale than you.
