Boss is sending me on a last minute site visit in Birmingham. Need some recommendations on good places to grab a nice meal and watch the first part of game 4.

Anything, really. Would prefer a more local spot. We have Dreamland in ATL, so I'll be passing on that suggestion.

What are considered B'Ham's better restaurants? Price isn't an issue since my bill will be expensed to my company.

ETA: I'm not driving in my work clothes, so I will be on the more casual side. Hope that doesn't rule out a lot of places. Both GianMarco's and Highlands Bar & Grill look pretty solid, might give one of those a shot (assuming they're not too dressy).

Appreciate that. Looks like Highlands comes by highly recommended. How casually dressed could one get away with dining here?

The J. Clyde. Fantastic craft beer bar with some good food.

Here's a pic of the burger with fried green tomato I got. The beer is a Great Divide 18th Anniversary Oak Aged Double IPA.

Good info. May end up there based on that.

Would normally be sold on that, but I am driving back tonight so I'll be staying away from booze/beer.

In that case, Bham has some nice choices.

Highlands Bar & Grill
Hot & Hot Fish Club
Bottega
These are the ones I frequent. I've also heard nice things about Gianmarco's, Cafe de Paris, Cafe Dupont, and others.

Nikkie's West is one of the better meat and vegetable places anywhere if that's your thing. There are several good bbq restaurants around town. If you like Mediteranean/Greek, The Pita Stop Cafe and Nabeel's are fantastic. If you like Thai, try Surin West.

Hope this helps.

Downtown or suburbs?

Village tavern at the summit has a nice bar area with flat screens which would be a good place to watch the game. Won't be too crowded like the sports bars would be.

Will be near the Farmers Market to be exact, which I am assuming is downtown, but I'm not too familiar with the city. I'm willing to drive just about anywhere.

Alabama Farmer's Market on Finley Ave.?

If so, I would definitely suggest Nikki's West for lunch and one of the more upscale restaurants already mentioned for dinner.
