Employee to employer reimbursement question

If I was given reimbursement for relocation expenses in the form of standard payroll check (taxed as normal income), and I was required by contract terms to pay back partial amount, would I get a credit toward what was taxed originally?
For example, reimbursement expenses will be paid back using my income that is taxed to pay back the reimbursement amount that was taxed.

I would think they will subtract that amount out of your w2 at year end. I doubt they would refund any tax taken out of that amount unless they docked your payroll check the amount you owe. You could probably request that.

Thy simply didn't pay you correctly. Reimbursments shouldnt be taxed in the first place. This error needs to be corrected.

Well, I use relocation expenses loosely, it actually was money granted for the closing costs on sale of my home. I am assuming it would fall into the area of a bonus/normal income.
