Who uses them, do you think they attract bigger trout, and how many of you believe it's because female trout hate them because they steal their eggs?

I love using live croakers. If I'm gonna use live bait, I want it to be croakers. Definitely catch less than with live shrimp, but if you catch one it's gonna be a keeper 9/10 times.

That's all we use in GI and we rarely throw one because of size. C-rig ftw

First time I've heard it.

I really don't care why they work, I just know they work, and I like using them

I usually get about half croakers half shrimp. Try the croakers first. If they dont want the croakers they usually want shrimp

I use them too, and I know they catch bigger fish. It is NOT because the female trout hate them because they eat their eggs. A female trout doesn't give two chits about her eggs after she spews them everywhere. But for some reason, croakers definitely catch the bigger, female trout. I wonder if it's because they mistake the sound for male trout, and when they get there, they're pissed?

I'm just trying to figure out what it is about them that makes them a better bait for big trout.

By the way, if anyone goes to the SP in GI and has a cast net, you can catch a bunch in the crabbing pond by the entrance. Of course, you'll catch a ton of mullet too, but you can catch a lot of croakers...perfect bait sized ones, too.

I wanna catch a porpoise so bad!
I know that's sick, but I just wanna get one hooked up, (done that), and chase it down with the boat until I tire it out, get it to the side of the boat and get some pics, then cut the line as close as possible.

Only times I've hooked porpoises is when they grabbed my trout before I could get it to the boat. I have also fed them trout while wade fishing in GI before. Was catching trout, and these porpoises would chase it to us, but would stop as soon as they got to within about 10' of us. Then they would stick their heads out of the water like they were begging. I threw a few to em that were too close or maybe undersized. It was a trip.
