Use to catch those all the time as a kid. I believe the common name is a cicada.

I always called them locust as a kid but the correct name is Cicada. A locust is what I call a grasshopper, or looks like one anyway.

Yeah that's a cicada. You can find their shells all over the place, but I've never seen one coming out of it like that! That's a cool picture!
